Factory manualTaken from a Mazda factory workshop manual, with page citation.
Procedure

Shift selector to P. Align the slider alignment hole with the indicator-panel hole and hold it with suitable heavy-gauge wire. Use factory figure order: viewed from above as in the selector illustration, right upper, right lower, left upper, left lower. These positions refer to the illustration orientation, not vehicle left/right. Remove the wire, verify selector/indicator alignment in every range, and verify the emergency override button operates correctly.
