Automatic transmission OD brake band adjustment (1992)

  1. Loosen the locknut, then seat the piston stem.61–87 in·lb in·lb6.9–9.8 N·m6.9–9.8 N·m61–87 in·lb in·lb
  2. Loosen the piston stem 2 turns.
  3. Hold the stem and tighten the locknut without changing the adjustment.11–29 ft·lb15–39 N·m15–39 N·m11–29 ft·lb

Procedure

Perform the complete on-vehicle adjustment procedure; the stem seating torque is followed by loosening. Reinstall the removed cover or valve body as directed.
