Automatic transmission second brake band adjustment (1992)

  1. Loosen the locknut, then seat the piston stem.9–11 ft·lb12–15 N·m12–15 N·m9–11 ft·lb
  2. Loosen the piston stem 3 turns.
  3. Hold the stem and tighten the locknut without changing the adjustment.11–29 ft·lb15–39 N·m15–39 N·m11–29 ft·lb

Procedure

Perform the complete on-vehicle adjustment procedure; the stem seating torque is followed by loosening. Reinstall the removed cover or valve body as directed.
