Differential pinion-height adjustment tolerance (NB2 and Mazdaspeed)

−0.001–0.001 in (−0.032–0.032 mm)−0.032–0.032 mm {−0.001–0.001 in}

Factory manualTaken from a Mazda factory workshop manual, with page citation.
Procedure

Factory setup adjustment tolerance. Use the specified pinion-height fixture, average the left/right gauge readings, and account for the number inscribed on the drive-pinion end: subtract the inscribed number divided by 100; use zero if no number is inscribed. Select the matching spacer using the complete overhaul procedure. This is not the distance from the pinion to the ring gear.
