Factory manualTaken from a Mazda factory workshop manual, with page citation.
Procedure

Measure each gear radially with a dial gauge. Inspection ranges. The source says to replace the synchronizer ring if outside this radial-clearance range; preserve the measurement identity. Normally aspirated NB2 6MT only; actual 2003 evidence, other 2001–2005 years inferred.

Applies to
  • NB 2001–2005 (BP-Z3, 6MT) — 2003 factory component-manual evidence; other years inferred within the 2001–2005 normally aspirated NB2 family. Does not infer MSM.
  • Verified in: Mazda Y16M-D Manual Transmission Workshop Manual, March 2003
