Procedure

Set the ring evenly in its gear and measure the ring-to-gear-flank clearance around the entire circumference with a feeler gauge. Each of the first three rows applies to all first, second and third gears. Replace the ring if outside specification. Printed inch limits are coarse and sometimes inconsistent; metric controls. Normally aspirated NB2 6MT only; actual 2003 evidence, other 2001–2005 years inferred.

Applies to
  • NB 2001–2005 (BP-Z3, 6MT) — 2003 factory component-manual evidence; other years inferred within the 2001–2005 normally aspirated NB2 family. Does not infer MSM.
