Procedure
Set the synchronizer ring squarely in second gear and measure clearance to the gear flank around the circumference. Inspect inner cone, double cone and synchronizer ring tapered surfaces, and teeth; replace the synchronizer assembly if damaged or worn. The NA8 manual distinguishes this assembly from the other five-speed synchronizer rings.
